A leopard, lies in its enclosure at the Dachigam wildlife sanctuary on the outskirts of Srinagar 09, September 2011. A hunting ban and the common sense not to carry a gun in the forests of revolt-hit Indian Kashmir has brought a boom in leopard, bear and other animal populations, wildlife officials say. The latest assessment provides some rare good news for the Himalayan region, where a number of mountain beasts had been seriously endangered due to demand for items such as bear skins and shawls made from the hair of antelopes....Full Story
